11th Annual Ireland Getaway to County Wicklow on the east coast of
Ireland - a
brand new itinerary, now fully-confirmed, along with links to
many of the places we'll be visiting:: Departure from Boston: Sunday afternoon, November 7, returning Saturday afternoon, November 13, 2010... As always, a local coach from Bloomfield to Boston/Logan and return will be provided at cost... Our home for 5 nights: The Royal Hotel, Bray - http://www.royalhotel.ie - a fabulous hotel and leisure center, near the seaside promenade boardwalk and walking distance to shops, pubs, etc...Bray is the longest established seaside town in Ireland, with its mile-long promenade! We'll visit Dublin for a full day (on our own), The Wicklow Mountains, Bray boardwalk promenade by the Irish Sea, Powerscourt House, Gardens & Waterfall (fantastic!!), Glendalough (the Monastic site founded by St. Kevin in the 6th Century), the Wicklow Mountains National Park with Sally Gap and its incredible scenery, Avoca Handweavers (in Avoca, site of the filming of much of the exteriors on the BBC Northern Ireland television series Ballykissangel) and even a stop at the famous Johnny Fox's Pub - the highest pub in Ireland, located in Glencullen, atop the Dublin Mountains! If the conditions are right, our guide may even take any interested folks on a hike south from Bray to Greystones, with its lovely views of Bray Head, returning via the DART - Dublin's Rapid Transit system. On our day in Dublin, we'll be dropped off by Trinity College (Book of Kells) and allowed to "roam" for the day, with lunch and dinner on our own in town, before returning to Bray and our hotel... Included are all breakfasts including morning of arrival and three full dinners, with 2 "free" nights to sample the local cuisine on your own. For this brand new itinerary, we'll fly into and home from Dublin. Rate is $1459pp double or twin; (singles now sold out!). Departure taxes of $126pp additional, subject to change, along with any future fuel surcharges - please note that! Insurance (required) additional, based on age. We expect this tour, limited to 30 seats only, to sell out quickly, based on current interest and our repeat passengers who are looking for a NEW itinerary to the Emerald Isle, so please let us know of your interest as soon as possible!
