On September 9, we'll take an overnight departure from Hartford via Dublin to Glasgow for an 9-night visit. We'll be staying 2 nights in Glasgow, 2 in Inverness, 1 in Dundee and 3 nights in Edinburgh. We'll fly home from Edinburgh, again via Dublin. The tour will be fully escorted by Donna and Dennis Hubbs, along with a full-time professional Tour Guide! This will be a scenic, landscape-oriented exploration with lots of castles and gorgeous scenery. Below is the current itinerary and just some of the sights we'll be visiting on this special custom tour.

September 9: Depart Hartford (BDL) aboard Aer Lingus for an overnight flight to Glasgow, via Dublin. Dinner will be served on-board with a full movie program. Breakfast at a local venue will be served upon arrival in downtown Glasgow the next morning. (B/D) Current air schedule is listed below.
September 10: Arrival into Glasgow. After breakfast, enjoy a half-day city tour with a visit to Kelvingrove Art Gallery. Overnight in town with dinner at the hotel. (D)
September 11: After breakfast, we'll head out for a full day excursion which will include Balloch and a visit to Loch Lomond Shores for Tweeds of Scotland, Inveraray Castle and a visit to the Trossachs. Overnight again in Glasgow. Dinner is on your own this evening. (B)
September 12: Again after breakfast, we'll head north to Inverness via Glencoe, including entrance to the Visitor's Center, Fort William and a cruise on Loch Ness, departing from the gorgeous Urquhart Castle. Overnight in Inverness, with dinner at the hotel this evening. (B/D)
September 13: Breakfast at the hotel. We'll then head out to the Culloden Visitor Center and Culloden Moor, where the final confrontation of the Jacobite rising of 1745 took place, along with a visit to Cawdor Castle. This afternoon is free to explore Inverness on your own. Overnight in town. Dinner on your own this evening. (B)
September 14: Today, after breakfast, we drive toward Dundee via Tomatin Distillery, taking a signature tour of the facility - and then it's on to Glamis Castle and Ian Burnett Highland Chocolatier. Overnight in Dundee. Dinner on your own tonight. (B)
September 15: After breakfast, it's off to Edinburgh via St. Andrews, including entrance to the Cathedral Museum, grounds and ruins, along with a whiskey tasting at Johnny Walker, Princess Street, Edinburgh. Overnight in Edinburgh. Dinner is on your own tonight. Either this day or tomorrow, we plan to make a quick stop at the House Of BOE retail store to purchase some of their famous gin! (B)
September 16: Following breakfast, we'll visit the beautiful Edinburgh Castle. This afternoon is at leisure to explore town on your own. Our "farewell dinner" will be in the Grand Cafe at the Scotsman Hotel. Overnight at the Intercontinental Edinburgh The George. (B/D)
September 17: After breakfast, we'll check out of the Intercontinental (luggage will be stored) and you'll be able to further explore the city until evening, when we transfer to our airport hotel for the night. Dinner is on your own this evening, prior to our airport hotel transfer at 8pm. This last evening will be at the Hampton Inn Edinburgh Airport. (B)

September 18: We'll depart for a 6-minute walk to the terminal for our early flight home, connecting in Dublin. We'll have a 5 hour connect time in Dublin Airport, which will allow for a late breakfast, US Customs pre-clearance and perhaps some last-minute duty-free shopping (prices will be in EURO) prior to our nonstop flight back to Hartford. Meals will be served aboard our transatlantic flight home. Be advised: Due to an early flight time from Edinburgh, breakfast (on your own) won't be available this morning, until we arrive in Dublin at 9:15am. (M) Please be prepared to walk from the hotel to the terminal this morning! We expect to depart for the terminal at about 530am, when the Aer Lingus ticket counter opens.

Depart Hartford September 9, 600pm via Dublin; arrive Glasgow 805am September 10 (connect time at DUB - 1.5 hours) Aer Lingus Flights 130*/3220 (EI 3220 operated by Emerald Air (ATR72, approx. 72 passengers) - carry-on size limit may apply. Flight time: BDL to DUB: 6hrs 15 mins; DUB to GLA: 1hr 15 mins. Note - times are gate-to gate and are usually less!

Depart Edinburgh September 18, 810am via Dublin; arrive Hartford 435pm (connect time at DUB - 5 hours; allows for breakfast/lunch, US Customs clearance and shopping at airport) Aer Lingus Flights 3251/131* Flight time: EDI to DUB: 1 hour; DUB to BDL: 7 hours, 15 mins. Note - times are gate-to gate and are usually less!

*Current equipment on flights 130 and 131 from/to Hartford is an Airbus A321-NEO, with 3/3 seating. Equipment subject to change, as is flight schedule. Equipment from EDI to DUB is expected to be an Airbus A320.
