D&D Travel's Waterfall Series - Wayne County in Eastern Pennsylvania and the Hawks Nest view along New York State Scenic Byway Route 97 just north of Port Jervis...      [HOME]

Above two images: Tanners Falls, at the end of Tanners Falls Road near the"village" of the same name in Wayne County, Pennsylvania. The old bridge across Dyberry Creek is closed to traffic but is still safe to walk across...The falls are accessed via several local roads off PA Route 191 out of Honesdale and the view is worth the ride. A steep, short pathway leads to several very large, flat rocks opposite the cascades, making a perfect place from which to take photographs!

The two images above are of Honesdale Falls, on PA Route 6, 1.3 miles south of the center of Honesdale, Pennsylvania. The falls, on Holbert Creek (as near as we can figure from the USGS topo maps), are about 13 feet in height and are on private land (unfortunately), surrounded by wildflowers, behind the parking lot of the defunct "Purple Cow" ice cream shop...

The final two images above are of the Delaware River, looking north along a scenic stretch of NY Route 97 (officially the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway) just a few miles north of Port Jervis and Interstate 84. Here, the river corridor - about 71 miles in length - is designated as the Upper Delaware National Scenic and Recreational River, from Hancock to Port Jervis, New York. That was evident by the large number of rafters, canoeists and tubers we saw far below that day!

Thanks for looking.  We hope you appreciate some of nature's beauty as much as we do... Get out there and explore... There is so much to see in the New England/NY/PA area!!
