In our local attractions series, D&D Travel presents a look at the Old Drake Hill Bridge in Simsbury, CT, spanning the Farmington River for 183 feet and built in 1892. The 19th century bridge was restored in 1995 and was inspired by the Bridge of Flowers in Shelburne Falls, Mass. The 12-foot wide roadway is eighteen feet above the river and now carries walking and bike traffic. The Old Drake Hill Flower bridge is a non-profit organization funded by donations and is a great place to spend some time! It is just off Drake Hill Road, which is directly off Hopmeadow Street (Routes 10 and 202) in Simsbury, CT...Enjoy the photos!       - Donna and Dennis       [home]
