One of the most beautiful fall scenes we've ever come upon - this one on Big Hollow Road in Starksboro, just off Vermont 116...

Beautiful farmland along Vermont Route 15 between Essex Junction and Jericho

The red barn - a New England icon! This one is located on Route 15 in Essex Junction, opposite the Whitcomb House Bed and Breakfast...Let us know if we can arrange a stay for you at the inn!

Above and below - The Old Red Mill in Jericho, Vermont. The Mill is a National Historic Site at the edge of Browns River and is home to the Jericho Historical Society. It also houses the "Snowflake" Bentley Exhibit. The discovery that no two snowflakes are alike was made by Wilson A. Bentley in Jericho - the first person to capture a single snowflake on glass plate film in 1885 at age 19! He gained world attention by combining a microscope and camera to photograph over 5000 flakes, never finding two the same... His book Snow Crystals was published just before his death in 1931 and is still in print - a remarkable man indeed...

The Country Store in Jericho Center, Vermont, opposite the town green...

This is what draws folks the world over - a leaf peepers delight!

Rural Vermont at its best!

Finally, the Connecticut River along Route 5 at Weathersfield Bow, looking east toward New Hampshire and the White Mountains...This is New England at its finest. Come visit...Let us help you arrange your stay at any time of the year! Email us at dennis@ddtvl.com

These photos were taken on two lovely mid-October days in northwestern Vermont, in the Burlington/Lake Champlain area.  We hope you have enjoyed these images as much as we did taking them! Vermont in autumn is a very special place indeed! - Donna and Dennis   [HOME]
