Otter Creek and falls, flowing past the old Vermont Marble Works in downtown Middlebury, about 35 miles south of Burlington...Pieces of marble, used in buildings worldwide, can still be easily picked up along the banks of the creek...

The snow flies at Hammond Covered Bridge in Pittsford, Vermont, built in 1842 and spanning Otter Creek. The 139-foot bridge was washed a mile downstream during a flood in 1927 and was towed back into place on a barge made of barrels and re-set. The bridge was undamaged!
